Great Inflatable Water Toys - Exciting and Fun!

Christmas time is a great time to give a gift like one of the many inflatable water toys available these days. If you are new to the sport I thought I would share a few basics to help you get started with your new inflatable water toys on what to do, what equipment to buy and some safety tips.

4 Tips great tips on Inflatable Water Toys

1. Decide who are going to be using the inflatable water toys. You can have more than one toy. For a beginner you are best to go with the basic tube. You can just sit inside it, hold on and be towed around. Depending on your level of fun and adventure will depend on what kind of ride the driver will give you. You can be towed straight behind the boat or if the driver does tight circles and figure of 8 shapes than your ride gets a whole lot faster and adventurous skimming over the wake and out to the flat fast water.

2. Inflatable Water Toy Safety
Safety with water toys are paramount and very simple to do. Firstly make sure every rider has a life jacket that fits. Then it is important to establish if they can swim or not. If they can't swim and it was my boat I would definitely not be putting them in an inflatable toy. The next thing is to make sure you have a spotter on the boat. The skipper's role is to drive the boat safely so he/she cannot be looking to see what is happening with the rider. That is the job of a spotter. They look out the back at the rider and tell the skipper if the rider has come off. Also they take care of the rope to make sure it does not get caught around the motor.

3. Equipment Needed for Inflatable Water Toys
As far as equipment is concerned there are just a few essentials you need. A boat or jet ski (kinda obvious) A hand or foot pump to blow up the inflatable tube. Nothing worse than getting to the beach and forgetting this little piece of equipment. A tow rope to attach inflatable toy to boat, life jackets and the inflatable itself.

4. Patch Kit
Every Inflatable Toy will come with a patch kit so that if you happen to make a hole in it, you have the means to fix it. I always leave mine in the glove box of my car. That way I know where it is and I don't forget it. These inflatable toys are made out of durable heavy plastic but mishaps do happen where you find you have a puncture. So being prepared doesn't take much but it sure helps.
